End of Summer Sand Soccer Tournament

The European-based Professional Beach Soccer is not new to Virginia Beach. The first event occurred in May 1994 under warning of a nor’easter where 26 adult and youth teams “kicked” off a new tradition that continues to expand globally.

This past June 5-7th Virginia Beach hosted the 16th North American Sand Soccer Championships where over 10,000 players invaded a twenty blocks on the strip supported with 30,000 enthusiastic fans.

The World Sand Soccer Association (WSSA) will be once again starting a new tradition that will end summer with only one “goal” in mind…to have a great time and of course witness some remarkable soccer. This year’s event will be held in conjunction with the 47th Annual East Coast Championship August 29-30th.

Also the WSSA will have live musical talent from local and national artist back dropped with the smells of specialty foods even to satisfy the most demanding pallet.
