It’s going to be a spectacular weekend in Virginia Beach as the city hosts two Memorial Day festivals sure to start the summer off right.
The festivities get rolling on the evening of Friday May 23, 2014 as Virginia Beach kicks off the holiday weekend with live music all along the ocean front at the Salute to Summer event. With live entertainment on three outdoor stages including music from different styles and eras, there is something for everyone! Original essays written by local high school students are reproduced on four by eight foot banners easily read by passers-by along the "Heroes Walk". These essays describe the military conflicts in which the United States has been involved throughout history. They help to remind us of the price that has been paid and is still being paid today by the United States military.
As if beach festivities aren't enough to tempt you from weekend yard duty, the Family Great Adventure Series launches on Saturday, May 24, 2014 by airing the movie Frozen on a giant inflatable screen right on the beach! Character contests, games, movies ... what more could you ask for?!
Don’t miss out on food and fun this Memorial Day weekend in Virginia Beach. We bring in the summer season right!
