Oceana Air Show
Do you enjoy watching as Jets scream above displaying incredible agility and speed, or watching parachute teams perform for you? Then you should check out the Oceana Air show September 19, 20, and 21.
The Oceana Air show, first held in 1953, and almost every year since then (1956, 1959, 1961, 1967 and 2001 being the only years they have not held the show so far) have been thrilling onlookers with precision flight demonstrations, parachute shows, pyrotechnics, and a ton of fun for the entire family. Their 2008 show will mark their 50th performance thus far.
Among the list of aerial performers include the U.S Navy Blue Angels, who have been performing since 1946. Along with the Blue Angels other famous aerial acrobatics performers will be at the show, names like Michael Goulian, Patty Wagstaff, John Mohr, Bill Leif, and Manfred Radius, just to mention a few. The “Leap Frogs”, the U.S Navy Fifteen Man parachute team, and the “Red Devils”, the official British Army Parachute display team will be there to impress spectators with their highly organized displays.
Also performing at the Oceana Air show is the “Shockwave Jet Truck”. Shockwave holds the world record in a quarter mile for trucks at 256 mph in just 6.36 seconds and holds the world record for full size trucks at 376 mph as recorded by Guinness Book of World Records. The air show will also have a long list of jet demonstrations.
