Virginia Beach Parks
Summer vacations don't have to mean deep pockets!
With so many parks and recreational facilities in Virginia Beach, you'll always have something to do.
First Landing State Park
This park serves as a Virginia Beach Tourism satellite location and has new displays, three indoor aquariums, restrooms,
showers and offers water sports rentals. It's Virginia's most popular state park attracting more than a million
visitors annually.
False Cape State Park
No vehicular access. Located in southern Virginia Beach, False Cape State Park is a mile-wide barrier spit between Back
Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Access is through the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge and is limited to hiking, bicycling
or boating. The park features primitive camping and an extensive environmental education program in one of the last
undisturbed coastal environments on the East Coast.
Mount Trashmore Skate Park
The brand new 24,000 square foot Skate Park at Mount Trashmore District Park is open for public use. Even though
all of the site construction is not complete, the park is ready and safe for use. Final grading and the installation
of sod and fencing should be completed within the next two weeks. The Skate Park features an extensive street course
flowing from an above-ground, seven-foot deep bowl. The components, designed and built by Minnesota based TrueRide,
are framed with treated wood and completely covered with composite material. The skating surface is Skatelite Pro.
