Ear Plugs Please?

This weekend was beyond busy. It seemed that there was an event at every corner. Cheerleading Championships, Graduations, Vacations, Cinco de Mayo Festivities, Gospel Fest, Town Center Wine Festival, the list goes on. The energy at the oceanfront was intoxicating. As I sat on beach soaking up the sun, I closed my eyes and listened for the sound of the waves, instead I heard the sound of giggling girls; with the cheerleading championships in town the pre-teen conversations seemed to permeate every where I went.

When I was 13, I was always giggling about something. I pretty much thought I had it all together. I was cool, and when ever I went on a school trip with a bunch of kids my age, we were crazy, and by crazy, I mean LOUD.

Now that I'm older, I look back at that age with a sigh. What was I thinking, and why did I think I was so cool? I think we all go through those phases and its exciting when you're in them, but now that I'm older, it's not as fun to listen to.

Which got me thinking about the people on vacation, graduation, or the wine festival that got stuck in the room next to a group of giggling girls that stayed up watching the Disney channel ALL NIGHT LONG! I know we've all been there, some of us have been the loud neighbors and others of us have been the ones wishing we packed ear plugs.

That's why, before I travel anywhere I make sure I check to see what other activities will be going on. That way I know before I leave the comfort of my home I know whether or not I need to pack ear plugs, and maybe a sound machine.
