Explore four centuries of history, architecture and antiques with interior tours of Piney Grove-1790, Ladysmith-1857 and Ashland-1835, and exterior visits to Dower Quarter-1830 and Duck Church-1917, featuring "TOURS-BY-THE-OWNERS." This is a two-hour guided tour. The tour concludes with lemonade and cookies. Space is limited and advance reservations are required. National Register of Historic Places and Virginia Historic Landmark. Historic B&B lodging is available on the grounds of Piney Grove and fine area dining is available nearby at Charles City Tavern, Courthouse Grille or the Blue Heron Restaurant for those wishing to spend an evening or the weekend in plantation country.
Piney Grove at Southall's Plantation is an official site of Virginia's Civil War Trails, the Jamestown Discovery Trail, Virginia Time Travelers Program, Virginia Birding and Wildlife Trail, and the National Park Service "James River Plantation" National Register Travel Itinerary.
