Summer Sizzles at the Suffolk Center: 2010 Summer Program offers Camps, Classes for all ages
The Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts has announced its Summer 2010 Program, offering a sizzling new line-up of summer camps and classes for all ages.
Summer classes will be offered from June 7th through September 2nd. Classes include yoga, dance, exercise, arts and photography. Music lessons will also be offered. For a complete list of classes, schedules and fees, visit www.suffolkcenter.org
Summer camps include an Arts Sampler Camp, a Circus Camp and a Theater Camp for children ages 7-12. The 5-day Arts Sampler Camp begins June 28th, and includes a workshop with folk artist Kacey Carneal, whose exhibit “A Woman and Her Art” can be seen at the Suffolk Center from June 11th- August 27th”. Program fee for the Arts Sampler Camp is $150, including lunch.
Krendl’s Circus Camp begins August 2nd. Program fee for the 5-morning Circus Camp is $125.
Theater Camp begins August 16th. Program fee for the 5-day Theater Camp is $150, including lunch.
A Pre-school Playhouse will be offered for children ages 4-5 from August 3rd – 31st. Program fee for the morning Playhouse is $25 per day, $40 for two days, or $165 for nine days. Advance registration is required.
A Youth String Ensemble will be offered for rising 7th – 9th graders, allowing young musicians from Suffolk and the surrounding communities to unite and improve their skills in an ensemble setting. The strings program will meet on Tuesdays at 6:30pm for 10 weeks, beginning June 15th. A concert performance will be held on August 13th.
