Collect wetland critters to use in the classroom, explore energy flow through land and water-based food chains, learn how to make geology concepts fun. These are just some of the topics that are covered in 12 different one-day workshops this summer at the Virginia Living Museum for teachers of pre-K through grade 9. The programs are SOL-correlated and grade-level targeted. They combine essential science content information and curriculum development strategies with hands-on, activity-oriented techniques for teaching science in the classroom. Programs qualify for recertification points. Fee includes all activity materials. Register in advance at 757-595-9135 or at www.thevlm.org.
