The 2012 Naval Air Station Oceana Air Show officially kicks off at 5:30 pm Friday evening, September 14th with the stunning Twilight Air Show. Don’t miss dazzling sunset and nighttime aerial performances and blazing pyrotechnics. During the twilight portion of our show, you’ll see a military tactical demonstration by Oceana F/A-18 Hornets. When the sun sets, you'll be thrilled by heart-stopping night-time displays by Otto the Helicopter, Dan Buchanan, Bill Leff, the Smoke & Thunder Jet Car and the British Red Devils jump team. Admission and parking are free and gates open at 5:00 pm. When the show ends, make sure you stop by the NAS Oceana Officer's Club to enjoy a refreshing beverage in this legendary watering hole.

The 2012 NAS Oceana Air Show'smain event occurs on Saturday and Sunday the 15th and 16th of September. This year's action-packed lineup includes the U.S. Navy Blue Angels as well as top civilian performers like John Mohr, Roger Buis with Otto the Helicopter, Bill Leff, Dan Buchanan and the Heavy Metal Jet Team. Commemorating the War of 1812, the theme this year is "Our Flag Was Still There," so expect to see stars and stripes throughout the performances. You'll also see tactical demonstration by modern military aircraft like F/A-18 Hornet & Super Hornet and the E-2C Hawkeye. Don't miss the heart-stopping performance by the British Red Devils Parachute Regiment, the power and flames of the Smoke & Thunder Jet Car or the awesome spectacle of the US Navy Air Power Demonstration where locally based squadrons simulate airfield attacks accompanied by booming pyrotechnics. Admission and parking are free at the NAS Oceana Air Show. We would like to remind guests that you can expect heavy traffic in the early afternoon so please arrive early. There is plenty of fun and entertainment for the whole family throughout the day!
Saturday Night, September 15th, 2012
On Saturday night, September 15th, make sure to take a trip to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront and attend the 31st Street Park Beach Blast adjacent to the Hilton Virginia Beach. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a free concert. When the sun sets, there will be a Super Hornet afterburner flyover to kick-off the official portion of the show, immediately followed by a team parachute jump onto the beach. Once the jumpers have been presented to the crowd, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels will take the stage to introduce the 2012 Blue Angel team. Music and entertainment will be provided until the event’s conclusion at 10 p.m. This is a free event and parking is available in the parking structure on the corner of 31st Street and Atlantic Avenue.
