A lot of drunk-driving on the news...

Alcohol. The Devil's drink. Here's a scenario:

Two cars are involved in a fender-bender, late on a Friday night. Both drivers have done drugs earlier in the night. One driver is drunk, the other is stoned, but if you're watching the initial interraction between the two, you'll blame the accident on person doing the legal drugs. No, ifs, ands, or buts.

I could go all day with this scenario. Imagine, if this paradise, called Virginia Beach, took a "pro-life" stance on drugs. Similar to Denver, but extreme. Outlaw alcoholic drinks and legalize Cannabis. This is how it would change:

The entire "Block" at the Oceanfront would be forced to cut off their alcohol supply. They'd consider changing their menu to support Herbal-highs as opposed to ethanol-highs.

Back to the accident scene...

The drunk-driver had just left the bar with his friends. The bouncer, or someone, says, "I hope you're not driving."

Meanwhile, the other driver leaves the smoking-bar, very much stoned. First of all, do you think he really feels like driving? Secondly, if he has to drive, paranoia would set in and he'd be ever more cautious. Forget the idea of being slow because you're stoned. Scientific studies have proven that more information enters your head as a result of activating your CB1 receptors.

A bunch of stoned drivers left a bar at the same time a bunch of drunk drivers did. Who do you think made it home first? What group do you think had the larger percentage of people who made it home safer? Who do you think drove the speed limit and stopped at all the stop signs? Which group saw the stop signs, and traffic lights, with double-vision?

Bottom Line: We have nothing to lose by switching over to an Herbal nightlife, or lifestyle, except liquor licenses and drunk-driving fatalities/injuries/property damage.

It would put a totally different perspective on "Peabody's"?

I'm pretty much over going out and having fun. I just want to use my unique, yet, limited knowledge and experience to see the World become a better place. Virginia Beach has a large part of my Heart (God knows that I've spilled enough blood on these streets) and it kills me to think of the path we are apt to follow with current socio-economic standards.

Representing some 80,000 Virginia nurses, the association declared last week that it "will continue" to seek the regularization of medical marijuana as a therapeutic substance."
