You need to take your time, Build up good Communication with your Doctor, & Let him know how you feel it helps you! Then 3 to 4 months on down the road, See if they will write a recommendation for Medical Cannabis. But If they will not write a recommendation, Then each time you meet make sure you bring up your medical marijuana usage & have him/her write it into you medical records, Because then they are legally monitoring your medical marijuana usage, & it will help to Protect You & Enable you to use a "Medical Necessity Defense" in a court of law,
Its the next best thing to a written recommendation. & If you are a Dr. Please do this for you medical patients! Yes we wish that you would write a written recommendation, The Federal Appeals Court has all ready ruled & Protected your medical rights as a Dr. to write a recommendation for medical cannabis, But if you are still concerned about writing a recommendation, Then please at lest write into your patients records each visit their medical marijuana usage, By Documenting it for them which will give them some legal protection & help protect your patients! Without you actually having to write a recommendation.

"The Virginia Nurses Association the first in the country to come out in favor of medical marijuana, has reconfirmed its support for therapeutic cannabis and called for immediate legislation to legalize its medicinal use. Representing some 80,000 Virginia nurses, the association declared last week that it "will continue" to seek the regularization of medical marijuana as a therapeutic substance."
