Islam mad at the pope
"The emperor comes to speak about the issue of jihad, holy war," Benedict said. "He said, I quote, 'Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached."'
The pope was quoting this text from something that was written hundreds of years ago. He never said he agreed or disagreed with it. Now all of the Islamic world is in an uproar, and they'll most likely start killing westerners for it.
Could that be a prime example of spreading their faith by the sword?
