Yeah, I actually quit my job to play poker professionally. Been making decent money at it for many years, but only professionally for the last year. It's pretty easy here in California, because there are card rooms all over the place. I have tried online a couple times, but it's not for me, so I stick to Brick&Mortar establishments.
And since everyone always asks the question "Have you been on TV?", the answer is yes and no. I've played in a couple televised World Series events over the past couple years, but didn't make any final tables. I have been on ESPN twice when I was standing behind Annie Duke when she won her first bracelet in 2004. Does that count?
I also played Live@TheBike which is a web-cast cash game that takes place each nite at the Bicycle Casino (
www.liveatthebike.com). It used to be free to watch, but now is a payed subscription.
Yeah, it's a long way from Two Towers poker in the old days, but man I still miss that game.
