Ruth's Chris Steak House

When my father-in-law wanted to try Ruth’s Chris Steak House here in Virginia Beach a few weeks ago, I was quite apprehensive.

The last thing I wanted was another run-of-the-mill steak house meal.

I was told the occasion required me to dress up a tad bit [not required mind you] so this intrigued me a bit.

Upon arriving, I was pleasantly surprised by the escalator entrance. The restaurant was extremely elegant and tastefully furnished.

The wait staff were incredibly diligent and attentative. Unlike other steak houses, Ruth’s Chris cooks their steaks at 1800 degrees, sealing in the flavor. The divine meal was served on a 500-degree plate (I was tempted to touch it but common sense helped me avoid that error).

The seafood gumbo was pretty tasty for the area (not many restaurants carry it locally) and the onion rings will shock you when they arrive (order it, you’ll see what I mean).

I had their steak and prime rib. The prime rib was the best I have ever eaten. It was served with aus jus and a horseradish sauce (absolutely mouth watering).

If you want the best steak in town, you have to try Ruth’s Chris. Bring your credit card. The meals are not inexpensive, but the food will be so delicious, the price will be justified.
