Yes, this is the real Crossfire
Since I have seen that my name has come up a few times, from Chuck and Tina, I finally appear.
I quit Little Caesars and left the area in '96 and went to Longwood for my degree in Computer Science, joined a fraternity, got elected Student Body President in 1998 and served on Longwood's Board of Visitors. Became a RA for two years and the President of my fraternity (Phi Kappa Tau, Paul Newman is a fraternity brother, as is Sen. Mitch McConnell and George Vionovich). Left school in December 99 two classes shy of a degree (Applied Calculus and Gym..go figure.) Finished those classes in the Spring of 2002 and got my degree. Hung around Virginia Beach in early 2000 working for the Army and then moved to NoVA where I have been ever since. Work for the Government as a Network Security Admin in the early part of the century as a contractor with my own business and closed up shop and got a "Fed" job in 2004, doing IT coordination. I live in the mountains of VA with my wife, who I just married in October (we had been together for three years and I am getting old, so I figured it was about time) and three cats. To Steve J. - I, too, took up the car hobby, and a goal that you and I talked about seventeen years ago, I achieved in 2004 when I finally bought a Bricklin sports car. (I actually have two now; one original with 15K miles and one that I am modernizing and restoring with all new running gear and body panels.) I also am restoring a Mustang Mach I and a Dodge Super Bee. To clear up another post, I was the vice-president of the OMC (after Jonesy, of course.) I hope this finds everyone doing well. Hey Steve,
It's great to hear from you! I'd love to see some pics of your cars. I'm working on a 1950 Chevy hot rod truck right now. Some pics on in the photo gallery (http://www.virginiabeach.com/photo/s...y.php/cat/503). I remember that day you and I walked up to Dan's house and saw his Bricklin and kit-car [back then, I didn't know kit cars existed]. I thought he was really drilling into his Lamborghini. Man -- those were the days of ignorance. Do you ever visit the peninsula? We should get up. Steve

Haha.. You know, I was living in Durham for a while. 99-01 (I think), and I saw this guy in the Barns & Noble one day. I was like.. Is that.... ??? Nah, how crazy would THAT be... I asked Steve about it later and he told me that you were living in the RTP area... I'll bet it was you, but I've never been one to just go up to someone and suggest that I know them... Are you still in the RTP area? I'm thinking about moving back there. I really enjoyed it... |
