Cashiers are relying more and more on cash register machines, and have completely forgotten how to count. For example, I purchased a $5.60 meal, and handed the guy $20. He gives me $4.00 in change. Obviously he didn't or couldn't count it. We are raising a generation that is no longer able to think and reason without the aid of the almighty computer.

And who is going to fix the computers when they break?

We will. They will take us out of the nursing homes to work on their broken computers. Or save our brains before they pull the plug on us.

I think I got lost somewhere in this thread. And I work at a fast food place as my second job and when I work I'm on drive through and the register for that doesn't have the punch in tender and the answer pops up for ya. So yeah, I'm smart. I only messed up once, but it was really busy and people suck.

I see it happening a lot. They'll call one of us over if they type 200.00 instead of 20.00. The register will balance fine, but subtraction really gets people. Heh
