I dont understand why everyone jumps whenever a district manager comes into town. It's like we're posing or not doing our jobs to the best ability until someone is watching. Why not let him/her see the place for how it is and let them pass judgement? Or just keep high standards like some do to begin with? The last time one came in, our store manager looked like he was sweating and looked rushed.

They all do it. Trying to put their best foot forward to look good in front of the boss. Otherwise they get written up. It's the way of the retail world.

I agree with you Bot.

Having been a Regional & District Manager in a past business life, I was never comfortable with a store manager that would always call me Mr. Chrish and always put pressure on the staff to make everything "look" perfect.

My managers knew me well enough that if I saw a minor problem once, it was usually no big deal. Of course if I kept seeing it and other things over and over, well, let's just say that I hope their next boss was more forgiving

I get suspicious if someone is obvious about always wanting to impress me.
