He's doing very well - thanks for asking.

In fact both my nephews came down Friday afternoon. We went to a gun show up at the Cow Palace on Saturday and then spent the whole day at the rifle range today. They just left about 30 minutes ago.

PJ was given a medical discharge in late August or early September. They promoted him to Sergeant just before so he left with that rank. He's healthy, but of course this is something he'll need to watch for closely for the rest of his life. Fortunately, he'll never have to worry about medical bills - ever. He's now taking advantage of some of his benefits by going to school.

What a difference a year makes. Just a little over a year ago there were lots of very dark days around here. He is and we're all very fortunate!

Same for Michelle -- we had another scare recently but all is well now.

For those that make it through, it is amazing how time heals. I rarely think about those dark days now.

That's great!

I think youth had a fair amount to do with it in both cases.

One tends to expect to hear about cancer in someone older and it's a surprise when it hits someone young. However, the young are much more capable of tolerating the medical treatment to get rid of the disease.

I remember when you first told us about the diagnoses. Weren't you two newlyweds? Chrish is right, it's amazing how much of a difference a few years makes. Glad to here that she is doing well. I credit a lot of that to you though, Steve. It couldn't have been easy on your marriage but you two got through it together. Hell, if you can over come that you two can over come anything.

Yeah, We had been married for about a year when the bad news hit.

She had alot of internal strength. It was really easy to go through the whole ordeal with her being so positive. It might have been totally different if she had a different attitude.

We stuck it out and so far, all is well.

No complaints on this end.

Steve

That's good to hear. Nobody under 90 should ever have to face cancer. So let it be written, so let it be done!
