What do you think of Oceana N.A.S.???

And the "jet noise"? I'd like to know what other people from this area think. I wouldn't mind a few of them going to Texas.

After I wrote this, I was walking by the kitchen, where my kitty's litter box is in the far corner, and saw her climbing into her litter box (it has a top to it). A second later, a jet flies over and "kitty" runs across the apartment.

Well, the jets keep going for a while, finally my cat is forced to regurgitate her kitty-food. Well, that didn't happen, yesterday. But, after seeing her, first-hand, being scared away from her "personal toilet", I'm certain that the "jet-noise" is causing my cat to throw up all over the apartment.

I'm not a member of any forums, except one other, and I posted a complaint there of my cat getting hurt when she was up by the window, and a jet flew by, causing her to jump down on something (that's not normally there) and hurt herself for over a week.

I've been living here

Luckily, I live pretty far away from all the jet noise. I could see how it could become a problem.

They never should have built housing too close to the base. Last I heard, that branch was thinking of moving to FL, which would take away alot of military residents [bad for the local economy].

Have you heard anything about that happening?

Steve

All I know is that Texas wants some of the jets and the BRAC said that Virginia Beach hasn't done enough to keep them, like buying up property in the crash zone. Mayor Oberndorf had said to, at least, give them until March before making that decision.

Yeah, I've lived near Oceana since I moved here, and spent a lot of time delivering chicken & ribs there, eleven years ago (for a few months). It is the largest employer in Virginia, or something along those lines, Virginia Beach would be forced to prosper in other ways. And I'm sure it could.
