Virginia Gets On Board With Nationwide 211 Program
02-10-2006 1:43 PM
(Richmond, VA) -- Governor Tim Kaine made the first call today at the Richmond United Way to officially put Virginia on board with the nationwide 211 program today. Spearheaded by the United Way of America, it is designed as an easy to remember telephone number that connects people with community services. The service helps connect people to everything from finding local food banks and shelters to getting more information on health insurance programs and counseling programs. Virginia will join the already more than 170 211 systems that operate in parts of 32 states, Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia.
I just read this checking my cox email.
