Why Virginia Beach?

If you're local, what ties you to the beach?

If you're a tourist, we'd love to know what you like about the beach.

For me, it's the ocean breeze and the sound of the waves. Good seafood is always a plus too.

I came here after my Brother, who's nine years older than me, in 1994, several years after him, moved back and forth before staying here five years ago. I've had lots of friends from different parts of the city, but I've lost touch with most of them.

Virginia Beach is paradise. There'd be more birds, of different sorts, if it weren't for the jet noise.

I found this really interesting. Since I'm not originally from here, I enjoy comparing the area to other places. I read this in Wikipedia, through a better site, that I recommend to anyone who needs, or enjoys, information.

First, the interesting piece:

Additionally, the geographic location of the city, with respect to the principal storm tracks, is especially favorable, as it is south of the average path of storms originating in the higher latitudes, and north of the usual tracks of hurricanes and other major tropical storms.
