It's been brought up that Joe's Mom could use some financial assistance. Do you guys want to give individually or lump some funds together?

Wow!

Fred just told me and I'm just shocked. Joe was just an amazing person with a huge heart. I remember so many great things about him, all the fun times at the maelstrom, Joe hanging out in the BBS room, just making people laugh. Playing on the horrible basketball team and getting killed, but Joe just laughed about it.

I know I will miss you Joe, Im sorry I lost touch with the great people with Paradigm. That was a great time in my life and Papa Bear was one of the reasons.

Love you Joe!!

I don't really know what to say about Joe. I worked with him at VisiNet and I gamed with him sometimes on MMOGs and once or twice at World's Best. He always had a great attitude and he was a lot of fun to hang out with at work and out of it. I'm really very sorry that I lost touch with him after he left Wok n' Roll (I used to eat lunch there, I worked at St Leo University at Eustis). I wish I had a chance to say goodbye. He was too young and too good a guy.

Memories of Joe sitting in the tech room, hunched over his screen and (of course) wearing a purple t-shirt. Managing to to stay calm with some angry customer, and then laughing about it afterwards. Pulling up into the parking lot in that big boat of his, or huffing and puffing in on his bike after what must have been a 5-10 mile ride to the office. Seeing him in full Darth Vader garb, first or second in line at the premier of Episode I at AMC 24 (I missed the follow-up anger .

I didn't see Joe too much outside of work, other than the occasional group movie. It makes me sad now that the opportunity to do so is gone. I can only imagine the loss of those of you who had and took the opportunity to spend more time with him.

My wife only met Joe once or twice. When i told her what happened, she said "Big Joe? I'm so sorry, he was such a nice guy." All it really took was 5 seconds with Joe to figure out that he really was "such a nice guy". He will be sorely missed.

ps - and Joe, if you can hear me up there, i sure hope God hasn't put you in charge of lightning bolts cuz...... "Greedo shot first!" (runs for cover) .

I'll Miss Joe, that dude was always making me laugh. I worked with Joe at Visinet, and we used to get together during the weekends to play RPG's. The man was a fine human being, and had a great heart. He will be missed.

I’m completely stunned.

I worked with Joe doing the nightshift at visinet.

Long nights of discussing SWG and arguing about Star wars in general.

I will always remember him as the wookie ranger creature handler. lol. (In purple armor no less).

we always had good conversations about game and mmorpgs, and the future of gaming. It always made the time go by during those late nights.

He will be missed by me, as a gamer, a fellow nerd, and friend.

Allyn.

Hey Steve,

Man Joe would be happy, it's almost like the old BBS is back together again,
I've talked to people I haven't talked to in years, and I don't mean just hey
how are you, I mean legitimate, let's get together and do stuff kind of
conversations. Anyway, to the point of the message, I will probably not be able to attend Friday due to work requirements, we are in a horrible catch 22, short manned and a hiring freeze. So that leaves me with no option B. For this next exercise which ends the 9th, working pretty much 12 hour days. I would like to help contribute something I will talk to Erin and see how much we can afford this check, I'm sure we can come up with something. Just let me know the best way to get it to you and I will. Also wanted to see how you were holding up, I commend the effort, you've rallied the troops and provided us all with a place to share memories and honor Joe. I miss those times in my life man, and Joe was a big part of it, I even miss going up to the Wok N Roll and seeing him. It's amazing even people that have only met him once or twice say they were amazed by his charisma his character and his attitude. Erin has a mutual friend of Joe's, Scott(I don't remember his last name) and she says that very thing, she only met him a couple of times, but she says he was a great guy. I've been checking the forums daily, and I'll be on Yahoo nightly, thanks for keeping me in the loop, I'll talk to you soon.

Dave

Joe will be missed

The past week I have been in shock and saddened by this tragic news. I will always remember Joe for having a good heart (something that I consider extremely rare in this world). Even when he was pained by my off-sense of humor I will always consider him a good friend and I will sorely miss him.

Joe Davis was my best friend for a long time. I remember way back in the day (before the BBS even) playing one on one basketball at the "Cult" church. He was always Magic Johnson, I was always Larry Bird. Fast forward: I remember him moving into the Maelstrom and telling me about Paradigm. Poker in the Maelstrom. Joe singing the Aladdin soundtrack in the shower, loud enough to be heard throughout the whole house. That beat up Pinto. Rolling my car after getting Larry (Fred) home the night of my 21'st birthday party. The list goes on.

Joe, you were closer than a brother.
