Chik-Fil-A Holiday Lights at Virginia Beach

Ever dream of swimming in a sea of Christmas lights and delighting in an electric winter wonderland? Every year Virginia Beach offers the next best thing at the Oceanfront with the annual Chik-Fil-A Holiday Lights at the Beach. From November 17 through the first of the year, visitors have the rare opportunity to drive the world-famous boardwalk at night through a dazzling presentation of color and holiday cheer.

Each evening at 5:30PM as the sun sets, the boardwalk is closed to pedestrians to allow cars, small trucks and even tour buses to roll slowly past over 250 animated displays representing various nautical themes and winter holidays. See Santa’s sleigh launch from the Virginia Beach pier, and sing along to the Twelve Days of Christmas as you watch the song unfold in articulate arrangements of colorful lights. For the last twelve years, Holiday Lights at the Beach has added a new day to this theme, and 2006 completes the set with a display for the twelfth day! An accompanying CD of holiday music, complimentary with each admission, enhances the experience as the carols synchronize to the magic.

It is estimated that over one hundred thousand visitors pass through the many lighted arches. This year the holiday lights display is extended six long blocks across the Oceanfront, and opening weekend allows the opportunity to enjoy the illuminations for the discounted price of five dollars per car. After November 19, prices are set according to vehicle:

$9 per car (Mon. ~ Thurs.)
$10 per car (Fri. ~ Sun. and Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day,and New Year’s Eve)
$20 per limousine (what could be more romantic than a chauffeured drive through a beautifully lighted holiday wonderland?)
$40 per motor coach

After a day of shopping and trimming the tree at home, pack up the family to see might Neptune’s tree of lights ~ three stories high! Don’t wait to experience one of the largest holiday light extravaganzas on the East Coast.
