What better way to celebrate your Fourth of July than in Virginia Beach this year? Virginia Beach’s Fourth of July activities are more than enough to keep you busy. We cannot forget about the tradition of lighting up fireworks in celebration of our Independence. Starting at 9:30 PM, and launched from a barge around 20th street on the oceanfront. This will be a hard to miss event if you find yourself at the oceanfront during this time. All across the boardwalk there will be the Stars and Stripes Explosion, a series of concerts held at various stages across the beachfront. One of the events is a concert held by Symphonicity (the symphony orchestra of Virginia Beach, conducted by David S. Kunkel) on 20th street at 8:00Pm. Right after the concert hang around for a front line view of the fireworks. From 7PM to 8PM and also from 10PM to 11PM make sure to check out “Revolution: The Beatles Tribute”, a worldwide tribute band to the Beatles, playing at Beachstreet Starfish Pavilion at 17th Street (17th Street Park). Playing at the same times at Beachstreet Seaside Palladium at 24th Street (24th Street Park), there is “The English Channel”, a tribute band recreating British music from the 60’s and 70’s, If you find enough time you can check out also “Satisfaction: A Rolling Stones Experience”, playing from 8:30PM to 9:30PM and at 10PM to 11Pm Neptune Parks 31st street. These are just a few events that are happening at the oceanfront, and they are all free to the public. Every year is something different, but always something fun; make the celebration at the oceanfront part of your plans.
