The Beach is Alive with the Sound of Music

The music lover heading to Virginia Beach need not worry about a lack of tunes, for summertime brings not only endless days of sun and surf but opportunities to enjoy great live music. From top touring acts to local favorites, summer concerts are plentiful in Virginia Beach. Knowing in advance the policies of the more popular venues can help make the concert-going experience all the more pleasant.

If the day-long, browning-in-the-sun music festival scene is your cup of "so-la-ti," make plans to unroll a blanket at the Verizon Wireless Virginia Beach Amphitheater this summer for three of the hottest multi-act events to play in the South. The 2007 Vans Warped Tour, the Projekt Revolution Tour, and the country-themed Eaglefest are among the many bands and artists scheduled to perform at the beach's premier outdoor arena. Tickets are accessible via Ticketmaster Online and the local box office, with an extra optional fee for VIP parking. If you're worried about inhaling too much on the lawn, there is a partitioned Family Zone where cigarettes and alcoholic beverages are prohibited. Family shows allow one child under 12 in for free for every adult lawn ticket purchased, too!

Visit the Amphitheatre's site at http://www.LiveNation.com for schedules and regulations.

Some may argue, too, that the best kind of music is free, and Virginia Beach in the summer provides it in spades (and half-notes). The 24th Street Stage on the Oceanfront is a popular venue for local festivals and free shows featuring old favorites and new and coming acts. The Soul Music Beachfest and the Rock and Roll Half Marathon are just two celebrations scheduled to feature free music.

Let the music move you through Virginia Beach this summer with favorite rhythms and new sounds guaranteed to keep your feet tapping along the boardwalk.
