| Kathy is coming back after 33 years! | ||
|
4 Mar 2008 1:21 AM It was our honeymoon in June of 1975 and we picked Virginia Beach as our destination. We were young and saw the great ads "Virginia Beach is for Lovers." So...we drove to Virginia Beach right after our wedding reception, making it there in about 15 hours. We decided to go out for a swim the next day, taking our cameras, personal belongings, wallet with all our money in it, etc and spent the day on the beach. We layed all our things on the beach and suddenly a storm hit, a huge wave came crashing down on our things, and our camera and belongings all were washed out into the ocean including all out money that we had saved so hard for. The next day we had to turn around and come home, making it in less than 13 hours, since we had no money, and at that time, we didn't even know what a credit card was. Our daughter has recently moved to Maryland and we thought we would try the trip again. Hopefully with a little more luck this time. Kathy, we're sorry to hear what happened 33 years ago but we're glad you're coming back. This is actually a great warning for all the new visitors, don't let the tide wash out your valuables! Alot has changed since you were last here and I'm sure your trip will be even more enjoyable. |
