This Fourth of July, plan to be at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront where music, food, fun and fireworks will make the Boardwalk a great place to be this Saturday. There are also a couple other places in VA Beach that will be spectacular to enjoy the celebration. Read below to find out where will be partying this weekend!
If you would like to visit the boardwalk to enjoy fireworks and a display of live musical performances, make your way to one of three Boardwalk stages where you’ll have your choice of premium entertainment from music to magic!
For the ultimate beach music experience culminating in a spectacular fireworks display, be sure to get to the 20th Street oceanfront stage on the beach to see Symphonicity - Virginia Beach’s own symphony orchestra, the Virginia Beach Chorale, and the Doorway Singers. There the entire family will be treated to a variety of compositions ranging from Broadway show tunes to American folk music and patriotic favorites worthy of a salute to the Stars and Stripes. This celebration is called Stars and Stripes Explosion!
2016 Entertainment Schedule
7th Street Park: 6:00pm
20th Street Stage on the Beach: 8:00pm-10:00pm
17th Street Park: 8:00pm - 10:45pm

25th Street Park: 8:30pm

Fireworks display begins at 9:30pm
If getting to the Virginia Beach oceanfront is not in the cards this July 4th, Mount Trashmore Park at 310 Edwin Drive in Virginia Beach will be sponsoring its own holiday celebration from 4:00pm-10:00pm. They will have two live musical performers for this event! The performers will be Cheap Thrills and Rachel Rocheleau.
Just want to relax and enjoy the fireworks? You can! The fireworks at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront are visible no matter where you are on the Boarwalk. You can sit on the benches along the boardwalk or set up on the beach and watch the festive display.
A word to the wise beach vacation guest and Virginia Beach resident alike: be aware that the Virginia Statewide Fire Prevention Code, the Code of Virginia and the Code of Virginia Beach strictly prohibit the possession, transport or discharge of fireworks and pyrotechnics within the city limits of Virginia Beach unless properly permitted.
Finally, have a blast and be safe during this 2016 July 4th Celebration on the Boardwalk as we pay homage to the sacrifices of the brave men and women of our military forces – past and present – that afford us the privilege of freedom here in the grand ‘ol USA.
