As summer officially starts later this month, the summer-fun activities in Virginia Beach are endless! Here are six things to do in and around Virginia Beach in June:

1. Harborfest in Norfolk, VA

Harborfest runs the first full weekend in June in nearby Norfolk. The longest-running, FREE maritime event in the country, Norfolk Harborfest offers you the chance to see tall ships, a great fireworks show, the largest outdoor dock party in the Hampton Roads region, and tons of top-flight local, regional and national live entertainers and bands. This event lasts from June 9-12th. 

2. 2017 North American Sand Soccer Championship

Your dad probably loves sports. Does he love soccer? If he does, Virginia Beach in June is the BEST for soccer lovers! the sport of soccer transforms to an intense beach game! The internationally known North American Sand Soccer kicks off another tournament beginning on June 9th. This weekend long event takes over the sand, with fields and fields of games to watch. Soccer isn't the only sports game going on at this event! The "Sidekick" games will include sports like beach football, beach wrestling, beach lacrosse, and sand hockey. 3. Family Great Adventure Series

On the beach on June 22nd will be a family friendly event to remember! Starting at 6:00 PM on 26th Street at the Oceanfront, all members of the family are invited to go on a "Silly Safari" and have your chance to win a medal. Your team/ family will go on an adventure to find out facts about animals in order to win the prize. After the game is over, settle in with a blanket on the sand and watch The Jungle Book on a large screen on the beach. 

4. Take Home Lasting Memories of your Vacation

5. Get Groovy at Sandstock

Virginia Beach’s answer to Woodstock, also takes place the second weekend of June. Sandstock: A Tribute to Rock and Roll will be sure to delight tons of music lovers! National and regional tribute artists come to honor some of the top performers of the Woodstock era (think Elton John, the Grateful Dead, the Allman Brothers), who perform on two beach stages on the beach. Get ready to get your groove on! This event is FREE and open to the public!

6. Have a Scenic Trip at KOA Campground

Virginia Beach's KOA Campground is guaranteed to give everyone the type of trip they are looking for! KOA Campground offers something for everybody. If you want to pitch your tent and watch the stars or if you're the kind of vacationer to want to relax in the AC, KOA has you covered! This unique campground offers an array of ammenities like an outdoor swimming pool, basketball court, giant inflatable water slides, dog park, paintball, outdoor movies, free shuttle to the beach and back, and the list goes on!
