Simon’s 10th Annual Kids Fundango Festival: Held March 10, 2013, from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM, come and watch Regina Marscheider wow audiences with her large collection of marionettes and rod puppets. This family festival is located in the Little Neck area of Virginia Beach and features live entertainment, workshops, games, and activities. Tickets are $3 at the door. 10th Annual Cherry Blossom Festival: Held April 6, 2013 from 12:30 PM – 4:30 PM at Red Wing Park in the Sandbridge area of Virginia Beach. You are invited to come celebrate peace and goodwill with the Sister Cities of Virginia Beach and Miyazaki, Japan. Activities will include dancing, music, art, and martial arts demonstrations. East Coast She Crab Soup Classic: Held April 27, 2013 from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM, is a seafood competition among area restaurants. Guests can sample She Crab Soup from the competing restaurants and vote for a winner of the “People’s Choice” category. Atlantic Coast Kite Festival: Held May 4 - 5, 2013 near 17th Street in downtown Virginia Beach, kite fliers and spectators can experience a visual treat as kite enthusiasts of all ages decorate the beach sky. PANorama Caribbean Music Fest: Held May 10 - 11 at 24th Street Park in downtown Virginia Beach, this two day festival will feature steel bands, ocean breezes, and great Caribbean food, turning the Virginia Beach oceanfront into an island paradise. For more info call 757-491-7866.
10th Annual Neptune International Spring Wine Festival: Held May 18, 2013 in downtown Virginia Beach at Neptune’s Park from 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM. Come and taste unique wines from around the world right next to the Atlantic Ocean! Tickets are $30 in advance. Call 757-498-0215 for more info.
Patriotic Festival – A Celebration of Our Military: Held May 31 – June 2, 2013, this downtown Virginia Beach festival will honor our armed forces personnel and their families with concerts, military displays and demonstrations, and an oceanfront air show featuring The Blue Angels.
SkyFest Eastern Sky Native American Festival and Concert: Held June 8, 2013 at 17th Street in downtown Virginia Beach, this festival will celebrate the Native American culture with music, dancing, and food. For more info, call 757-491-7866.
Verizon Wireless American Music Festival: Held August 30-September 1, 2013 in downtown Virginia Beach, this 3 day festival will feature over 30 bands with the sounds of rock, jazz, R&B, and country! This is the largest outdoor music event on the East coast and the Atlantic Ocean provides the perfect backdrop. Food, beer, and merchandise heighten the festival feel!
